Plans have been put forward to build three new homes on land near Litcham Road in Mileham.
Each property will include an associated garage as well as parking spaces and a good-sized garden.
The application marks the second time that properties have been earmarked for the area after previous plans for seven homes were refused.
It was said that the development would erode “the intrinsic character and beauty of the countryside” as well as be “detrimental to highway safety”.

A planning statement on behalf of the applicant, David Marshall, said the reduction of homes from seven to three was “more suitable” for the site.
It added that the proposed development would “support the continued use of local community facilities.”
The land earmarked for the homes is near the remains of Mileham Castle, a motte and bailey castle which was constructed around 1100.Â
