Millions of people rely on state benefits to get by. Figures showed in February 2025 there were about 24 million people claiming some form of DWP benefit.

This includes 13.2 million of State Pension age and 10 million of working age. Benefits ranged from the State Pension and Attendance Allowance to Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment. In April every year these amounts often change in line with proposals regularly announced in the annual Budget set by the government. The DWP has now published its proposed benefit rates for 2026-2027.

Many of these will increase in line with inflation or more while others have remained static, effectively decreasing in value as the cost of living continues to rise. Here is a complete list so you can see what you will get.
