Aston Villa have suffered a fresh injury concern as John McGinn was forced off in the first half against Everton.
The captain called for medical assistance from the Villa staff while holding his right knee.
After a period of assessment, McGinn hobbled off around the side of the pitch before leaving the field.
His injury comes as a significant blow to Unai Emery, who is already without three midfielders due to injury.
Boubacar Kamara is nursing a knee problem after coming off against Tottenham, while Amadou Onana remains sidelined.
The Belgian could return to training next week, but Ross Barkley is also unavailable, with his return not expected until February.
Evann Guessand replaced McGinn in the 18th minute, making his return from the Africa Cup of Nations.
Villa are now targeting their 12th consecutive home win tonight, with the chance to move up to second place following Manchester City’s 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford on Saturday.
