Officers discovered an early-morning incident which took place on the A361 Main Road in West Lyng on Sunday, January 18.
Both police and ambulance services attended the collision, and initial enquiries suggest that a red Fiat 500 was allegedly involved in a crash with a parked car.

Officers said that, despite immediate attention to the driver, the sole occupant of the Fiat was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have now launched an appeal to see if anyone has any dashcam footage or further information which can help with their ongoing investigation.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “A fatal collision closed the A361 Main Road in West Lyng this morning, Sunday 18 January. Police are appealing for witnesses and any dashcam or other footage which could help their investigation.
“Initial enquiries suggest that a red Fiat 500 was in collision with a parked car at about 9:30pm on Saturday 17 January.
“Tragically the sole occupant of the Fiat died at the scene. While formal identification is yet to take place, their next of kin have been traced and will be supported.”
The road remains closed following an examination of the scene and pending vehicle recovery.
Motorists are being urged to seek alternative routes.
