Nottingham Forest are on the lookout for new players to come in and bolster the options available to Sean Dyche.

The Reds are desperate to land a new striker and have been linked with a host of players since the window opened.

Forest have been linked with Mehdi Taremi from Olympiacos, although it seems as though there are a number of players on the shortlist of the football club.

It seems as though things are ramping up on the recruitment front following Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal, with Forest now in talks to sign a Serie A striker before next weekend.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Forest are in talks with Napoli over a loan deal for the striker, with £1 million being paid in the way of a loan fee and the Reds holding an option to buy him for £30 million in the summer.

Lucca has struggled this season, scoring once in 16 games for Napoli, and quite clearly, the reigning champions are willing to cash in on the player.

Last season, the 25-year-old enjoyed a standout campaign at Udinese, scoring 14 goals and registering two assists, with 10 yellow cards also coming his way.

Lucca is now mulling over a move to the Premier League, with Forest moving first to land the player who has previously been linked with Everton and Crystal Palace.

Lucca disobeyed his manager last season

Last season, Lucca wanted to take a penalty during a 1-0 victory over Lecce, but his manager told him not to, with the striker doing what he wanted and taking the penalty ahead of the original taker.

After disobeying his manager and captain, Lucca was immediately substituted off the pitch, which caused a minor rift between him and his head coach.

Lucca does feel like the ideal player for a Sean Dyche system, with most of his goals last season coming with his head, with the Forest boss liking his teams to get the ball into the box.

This deal feels like a positive one for Forest and with no mandatory purchase option, it feels as though this is a low-risk deal that the Reds can do this month.
