West Ham have allowed several young players the chance to develop elsewhere during the January transfer window.
Indeed, George Earthy and Callum Marshall have both left West Ham on loan in January as Nuno Espirito Santo continues to rebalance the squad.
They have joined Bristol City and Bochum on loan respectively. Andy Irving is more experienced than the two, but he’s been allowed to join Sparta Prague.

Lucas Paqueta, of course, is a far more established star and he also seems set to depart West Ham for Flamengo.
According to Fabrizio Romano, another of the club’s young players in the form of Josh Ajala could be set to leave this summer.
Josh Ajala in talks to leave West Ham United
The leading transfer reporter posted the news on his official X account on Monday morning.
He claimed that the 19-year-old forward is in talks with clubs in both France and Germany.
The teenager’s contract is set to expire this summer and Romano adds that it’s now expected that Ajala will leave West Ham, given he can sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs.

West Ham set for a busy end to the transfer window
West Ham certainly haven’t been afraid to turn to their young players of late, yet Ajala hasn’t been afforded a first team chance.
That should tell its own story. A talented player he may be, but if he cannot get an opportunity while some of his peers are making their way up the ranks, perhaps it’ll never happen for him.

Other young players have proven that moving abroad can be good for their careers. Jadon Sancho was the trailblazer on that front, but plenty of others have followed suit.
It remains to be seen if West Ham sell Ajala, or if he agrees a summer move away.
Either way, West Ham are pushing for more signings during the January transfer window, and it seems as if it will be a busy end to the month.
