Ricky Hatton is to fight Eisa Al Dah in December of this year, and Amir Khan has some inside information on how it might go.

Hatton has remained around boxing since his first retirement in 2009 following a knockout loss to Manny Pacquiao, which came two years after also losing by KO to Floyd Mayweather in the same MGM Grand Garden Arena in Nevada.

After that, he had one comeback in 2012, which ended in a loss against Vyacheslav Senchenko. The former world champion and beloved Manchester man is now 46 with a record of 48 fights, 45 wins.

Speaking to Genting Casino, fellow former super-lightweight champion Khan suggested that Hatton will have too much skill for his latest comeback opponent.

“Ricky’s opponent Eisa Al Dah trained and lived at my house, I looked after him a lot. He’s a very dear friend of mine and I think it’s a great fight for Ricky. He takes a good shot, but technically I think Ricky is maybe one or two steps ahead, I don’t think he really causes Ricky many problems. Look, every fight is a threat, but I think this is a good fight to come back to for Ricky. Also this is a massive opportunity for Eisa to maybe win this, and if he can win this one, then I think it opens more doors for him in Dubai.”

‘The Arabian Warrior’ was the UAE’s first-ever professional boxer but hasn’t fought in four years. He is now 46 years old and has won eight of his 11 fights, four by KO, and lost three. His last win was a 2012 victory over Miguel Angel Munguia in Dubai and more than 90% of his opponents have had losing records.
