Prince Harry being on home soil and not having time to visit his family is a familiar tale.

The Duke of Sussex is back in the UK to fight the latest in his long roster of court cases, but I am told has no provision in his busy schedule to arrange to see his father or his brother.

While this is not unfamiliar territory, it is telling that the self-confessed “dragon slayer” remains focussed on fighting the British press and the government who he feels have wronged him at every turn.

Harry’s calls for reconciliation with his family after years of taking aim at them for conceived mistreatment and lack of support will unfortunately for him go unanswered while he continues to be engaged in such matters.

His attentions in the immediate future will be to lock horns with the barristers from Associated Newspapers, alongside his fellow claimants Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish, campaigner Baroness Lawrence, politician Sir Simon Hughes, and actresses Sadie Frost and Liz Hurley, who are all bringing legal action over alleged unlawful information gathering.

Similarly, Harry’s failure to overturn a decision by the British government to strip him of taxpayer funded security when he returns to Britain, has not ceased his campaign. Since being denied a judgement at the Court of Appeal last May, the Duke has written to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood who is reportedly going to bow to his demands.

Such action would potentially pave the way for Harry to bring his wife, Meghan, and two children, Archie and Lilibet, to the UK, after previously suggesting his country of birth was not safe enough for his family to accompany him on trips back home.

While that may present a glimmer of hope for him to reconnect with his family, it is quite telling as I revealed yesterday, that the King, Queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales have chosen to arrange engagements 500 miles away in Scotland this week while Harry is engaged in his latest legal battle.

If Harry does indeed want to reconnect with his loved ones, then frankly speaking, it’s not rocket science. Have a renewed focus away from the dramas of expensive and controversial litigation and refusing to accept the decision of His Majesty’s government and decided to concentrate on trying to repair the damage done since he decided to up and leave the rest of them behind.

Harry has previously called out the King both privately and publicly to involve himself in assisting him slay the dragons he believes have harmed him, unsurprisingly being told he is on his own.

Only when there is a diminished sense of an agenda from the Duke and an appetite to engage on terms other than his own, will his family – who are all still dutifully engaged in their royal roles – will it be possible to take him seriously.
