Argus Camera Club member Sophie Jasmin Mitchell captured the albino squirrel on camera in Queen’s Park.

Posting the photos in the Facebook group, she captioned them: “When she’s a gorgeous albino lady and she’s a poser!!!”

There was some discussion about the gender of the rare squirrel.

Sophie said: “I was speaking to someone who always looks out for her! It’s a she! She’s apparently very friendly and a big part of the Queen’s Park community.”

Fellow camera club member Claire Andrews, who also photographed the squirrel recently in December, said: “Yes, I’ve spent some time in the park recently. She’s a local celebrity!

“Also lots of birds. There used to be foxes but only seen one in last few weeks.

“I have been watching the little Goldcrests too.”

According to the BBC, the odds of an albino grey squirrel are one in 100,000 births.
