Singer Meghan Trainor has given birth to a daughter — and has thanked her “superwoman surrogate“.
The songstress, known for All About That Bass which topped the charts, shared photographs of her holding her baby, born on Tuesday. Writing beside these on Instagram, Meghan, 32, said: “Our baby girl Mikey Moon Trainor has finally made it to the world thanks to our incredible, superwoman surrogate.
“We are forever grateful to all the doctors, nurses, teams who made this dream possible. We had endless conversations with our doctors in this journey and this was the safest way for us to be able to continue growing our family.”
Meghan, whose tune Made You Look narrowly missed out on UK number one in 2022, told fans the surrogacy route was the “safest way” for she and husband Daryl Sabara to extend their family.

Meghan continued: “We are over the moon in love with this precious girl. Riley and Barry have been so excited, they even got to choose her middle name. We are going to enjoy our family time now, love you all.”
The singer, who married 33-year-old Daryl in 2018 after meeting at house party some years prior, welcomes Mikey Moon weeks before her seventh album, Toy With Me, drops. The couple had their first child, Riley, in February 2021 and then welcomed Barry Bruce in July 2023.
But Meghan and Daryl were going to call their second son Bruce Barry — until a last-minute change. In an interview about this decision in 2024, the TV personality also confessed she was desperate to have two daughters to “complete” her brood. Mikey Moon, indeed, takes the family one step closer to this dream.
During her second pregnancy, Meghan, born in Nantucket, Massachusetts, opened up about how motherhood has changed her for the better. She wrote the parenting book Dear Future Mama.
And, speaking in February last year, the star said: “Where I am right now is far beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of,” she said at the time. “I always wanted a family. Check. Now I need some daughters. But I never thought I could be a pop star because I didn’t believe in myself. Now 19-year-old Meghan putting out ‘All About that Bass’ is stoked; she’s so proud, like, ‘I didn’t know you could do that.’ It took 10 years to become brave, but I’m finally thriving… When I became a mom, my career had a whole new life.”
Meghan kicks off her tour called Get In Girl in June, starting in Clarkston, Michigan.
