Bahrain – Victorious have signed Attila Valter. The Bahraini team has over the years put in a lot of focus on central and eastern European riders and in the Team Visma | Lease a Bike rider they find a strong stage hunter and domestique whom they have signed on a three-year deal.“The team’s goals are perfectly matching with my personal ones. This gives me a lot of confidence and I’m excited to start this journey together with them,” Valter said in a press release. Valter turned pro in 2018 and has since 2020 raced at World Tour level, going through the since-disbanded CCC Team, Groupama – FDJ and most recently Team Visma | Lease a Bike.
His first year with the team was a success with a fifth place at Strade Bianche and a right-hand man job for Jonas Vingegaard at his very first race with the team – as well as a domestique role in the team’s historic 2023 Vuelta a España. In 2024 he finished Top5 at the UAE Tour and also the Olympic Games road race, proving his versatility. Valter is a classics rider but one who can also climb, making him a valuable asset for any team. However in 2025 he did not display the same form as in previous years and has not been able to achieve results for himself. The move to Bahrain should see him having more freedom to fight for his own results once again.
“We are very pleased to welcome Attila to Bahrain Victorious. He is a rider we’ve followed for a long time and believe he has the potential to take another step forward with us,” team director Milan Ezren said in a press release. “Over the next two years, we see him playing a crucial role in the mountains – supporting our GC leaders while also having the freedom to chase his own results.”
