Will Malajczuk (102 off 55 balls) scored the fastest century in ICC U19 World Cups as Australia comprehensively beat Japan in Windhoek. Set a target of 202 by Japan, Malajczuk and Nitesh Samuel (60* off 73) put on 135 runs for the opening wicket. Malajczuk, the left-hander, was in beast mode as he plundered the toothless Japanese bowlers all over the park. He hit 12 fours and five sixes as he brought up his century off just 51 balls. Australia won with eight wickets and 20.5 overs to spare. Earlier, legspiner Naden Cooray picked 3 for 31 while medium-pace bowler Will Byrom picked a brace as Australia restricted Japan to 201 for 8 in their allotted overs. Hugo Tani-Kelly was the pick of the batters for Japan as he put on a valiant 79 off 135 balls even as wickets fell all around him.
