Abhishek smashed 84 off just 35 balls, striking the ball cleanly from the start and putting the New Zealand bowlers under pressure. His innings laid the foundation for India’s big score after the hosts were asked to bat first.
Rinku Singh added late momentum with an unbeaten 44 off 20 balls. Suryakumar Yadav scored 32 off 22 deliveries, while Hardik Pandya chipped in with 25 off 16 balls as India maintained a strong scoring rate throughout the innings.
New Zealand bowlers struggled to contain the run flow. Jacob Duffy was the most successful, picking up two wickets for 27 runs. Kyle Jamieson also claimed two wickets but conceded 54 runs. Mitchell Santner and Ish Sodhi took one wicket each.
