Tottenham Hotspur are planning to reignite their interest in Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White this summer, according to TEAMtalk.
The England international was on the brink of a move to north London last summer after they triggered his £60m release clause, only for a legal battle to unfold and Forest to eventually convince him to sign a new long-term contract at the City Ground instead.
But with Sean Dyche’s side battling against relegation from the Premier League this season and sitting just five points above the drop zone, the Lilywhites are now plotting a move to try again and finally land their man.
Tottenham Plot Gibbs-White Bid

Gibbs-White, who has been described as ‘unplayable’, is considered to be one of the best number tens in the Premier League, and that’s why Spurs were desperate to add him to their squad last year.
His new contract runs until 2028, and it’s understood there is no release clause this time around, but Spurs believe that he could be more open to an exit with the chances of Forest playing European football again next season seen as very slim, considering their league position.
Tottenham are expected to follow developments closely in the coming months, but should he be available in the summer then they are likely to face more competition for his signature than they would have done in 2025.
Thomas Frank’s position as manager is under threat, but it’s understood that even if he were to depart before the summer window then Spurs would still likely push to sign Gibbs-White, as he is considered a long-term club target.
Forest are unlikely to be willing to let their captain go easily, especially with major interest in other key stars like Elliot Anderson and Murillo, but should a big offer come in, or worse, they get relegated, then they may have no choice but to do so.
Gibbs-White a Missing Link for Spurs

When the club missed out on a deal for Gibbs-White, they instead moved to sign Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig, but the Netherlands international has struggled to make the sort of impact many expected from him.
But the arrival of Gibbs-White would provide some ready-made Premier League-proven quality to the squad, and provide him with the platform he is desperate for to show off the undeniable qualities that he has.
Playing out wide or as a number ten, he could form a formidable attack alongside the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Xavi and a returning James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski. They may even be able to get it done for less than the £60m they were prepared to spend last year, and that makes the deal a no-brainer.
