Kim Kardashian and her ex, Kanye West, have had a longstanding feud with Taylor Swift since 2016 after The Kardashians star shared an edited version of a private phone call between Taylor and Kanye.

In 2020, the full version of the call was leaked, proving that Taylor had only approved the concept of her name being mentioned on Kanye’s song, “Famous,” but not the misogynistic nature in which it was used.

Nearly a decade after the beef was ignited, Kim has seemingly broken her silence on where she stands with Taylor.

As more people on our social feeds reminisce on the wild year that was 2016, Kim Kardashian seems to be looking back on that era of her life, too. We’ll hold your hand while we say this (and maybe pass you some retinol, while we’re at it): it’s been 10 years since Kim posted an edited version of Kanye West and Taylor Swift’s infamous “Famous” phone call. Ya know, the one where he asked if he could use her name in the song, where he raps: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex.”

It’s since been revealed that Taylor only approved the idea of using her name in the song… but not the way it was mentioned. And, now, Kim has seemingly broken her silence on their longstanding beef.

During the January 21 episode of Khloé Kardashian’s Khloé in Wonderland podcast, she straight-up asked the SKIMS mogul if she thinks people would “be surprised” that she listens to Taylor’s music.

Kim was quick to say that she’s openly been a Taylor fan. “I think I’ve said it,” she shared, seemingly referencing a pre-beef 2009 interview with Entertainment Tonight, where she admitted the most-played song on her iPod was “Love Story.”

Khloé doubled down, quipping, “I think people would be surprised.”

“I have some of her older songs on my playlist,” Kim continued. “I’ve always thought she was, like, a super talented great artist.”

KoKo then went on to ask Kim if she listens to country music, to which she responded, “I love country music! I’ll always be a Shania Twain girl. I love Carrie Underwood. And Lee Ann Rimes—obsessed.”

As previously mentioned, Kim gushed about Taylor in 2009 during an interview with ET, where she said, “I love Taylor Swift, I’m the biggest Taylor Swift fan.” At the time, she had freshly joined Twitter (now known as X), adding, “I’m watching her on Twitter, I just signed up on Twitter. I’m watching you, Taylor.”

Of course, that was in a pre-beef era, and Kim has publicly kept her distance since.

Over the years, fans have theorized that some of Taylor’s songs, like “thanK you aIMee,” “Cassandra,” “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things,” and “I Forgot That You Existed,” may have pulled inspiration from her drama with Kimye.
