Thomas Frank got a much-needed 2-0 win against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday, having faced calls for the sack from Spurs over the weekend

Sweden boss Graham Potter was spotted at Tottenham on Tuesday, as he watched their Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund alongside Spurs star Dejan Kulusevski. Thomas Frank’s team earned vital 2-0 win to ease the pressure on his position as manager.
Frank, 52, faced calls for the sack on Saturday after Tottenham were beaten 2-1 at home to relegation-threatened West Ham. Spurs, who are languishing 14th in the Premier League table, had gone five games without a win until Dortmund came to town.
First-half goals from Cristian Romero and Dominic Solanke ended their wait for a first victory in 2026, although reports claim that Frank remains under intense pressure. Watching the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was Potter, who has multiple links with the club thanks to Spurs stars Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall, and a member of Frank’s coaching staff.
Tottenham assistant Andreas Georgson is also part of Potter’s setup for Sweden, who appointed him in October. The ex-Brighton, Chelsea and West Ham boss will be pleased to have seen his colleague help Spurs take all three points.

Potter’s focus is firmly on the World Cup play-offs in March. The 50-year-old was given the job when the Swedish FA sacked Jon Dahl Tomasson after a woeful start to their qualifying campaign.
Despite finishing bottom of their group, Sweden will enter the play-offs thanks to their performance in the last Nations League campaign. Potter’s side will face Ukraine in their semi-final, with the match to be played in Valencia, Spain due to Ukraine’s ongoing war with Russia.
The winner will host either Albania or Poland in the final. Potter is yet to get his first win as Sweden manager, losing his first game 4-1 away to Switzerland before a 1-1 home draw with Slovenia.

Kulusevski is one of Sweden’s star names but he hasn’t played for his country for more than a year due to injuries. The winger is nearing a comeback after having surgery on his knee in the summer. His return will be a boost for both Potter and Frank.
Tottenham travel to 19th-placed Burnley on Saturday before their final game of the Champions League league phase next Wednesday at Eintracht Frankfurt. Another win would guarantee them a place in the last 16 and go a long way to helping Frank preserve his job for the foreseeable future.
