Manchester United legend David Beckham couldn’t resist taking a dig on social media after watching the Red Devils win in North London.

Just a week after beating Manchester City, Michael Carrick led Manchester United to a 3-2 win over Arsenal in their own backyard.

Goals from Bryan Mbeumo, Patrick Dorgu and Matheus Cunha gave the Red Devils all three points, meaning United are now up to fourth in the Premier League table.

United legend Sir David Beckham is no stranger to a fierce match between United and Arsenal, and he was watching Sunday’s victory from afar.

After the full-time whistle, he was quick to poke fun at his son – and Arsenal supporter – Romeo Beckham.

The Beckham family has been in the news this week for the ongoing tension between David, Victoria and their son Brooklyn.

But on Sunday afternoon, it was his son Romeo Beckham who David was addressing on social media.

Via Instagram, David Beckham shared two pictures of himself in a United shirt on his story. The first post read: “You okay Romeo?”

The second read: “As the boss would say ‘squeaky bum time’. The gap is getting smaller.”

Arsenal supporter Romeo Beckham poked fun at his father when United lost to Arsenal last season, now the legendary Red Devils winger has got the last laugh.

Beckham couldn’t resist taking a swipe at Romeo by pointing out Arsenal’s gap closing at the top of the table.

This was the first time all season that Arsenal scored first and didn’t go on to win the match.

With 15 games remaining, United have now claimed fourth position, and Aston Villa in third are eight points clear. Arsenal remain at the top, 12 points above the Red Devils.

United are chasing Champions League qualification this season and beating City and Arsenal back to back has put it in Carrick’s hands.
