Tributes to a former soldier and an 84-year-old with an MBE are among those being paid in The Chronicle deaths and funeral announcements this week.

Announcing the passing of a loved one in local news media is a long standing tradition and we are proud of the trust placed in us to make these important announcements. Every notice published to our newspaper and news site also appears on funeral-notices.co.uk – the UK’s number one site for death notices and memoriams.

Every notice remains online forever providing friends and families with a lifelong tribute to their loved one, a safe place online to share memories, add tributes, photographs and make donations in memory. Each week we pay tribute to the loved ones remembered in our area with a funeral notice and online tribute page.

To read the latest announcements and add tributes to those from our area who have passed away, or to create a funeral notice yourself, click here. Alternatively, you can create a notice by calling our helpful team on 01482 908084. Here are a selection of notices published earlier this week.

So many memories, happy and true, Forever treasured, all of you. Your blue eyes shone, your smile stayed bright, You never complained, just did what was right. You worked so hard to keep us safe, With values strong and endless faith. You loved to sing, to mend, to grow, Your garden still reminds us so. We live each day and do our best, Hoping we make you proud and that you rest. We hope you’re okay and feel our love, Wrapped gently in care from above. Though we are apart, you’re never far, Forever held close, just as you are.

(Margie) In loving Memory of a dear wife, mum and nana. Those we love remain with us, for love itself lives on. Special memories never fade, because a loved one has gone. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart. For as long as there is a memory, they live on in our hearts. xxx

Three years ago you were very sadly taken away from us. You are most lovingly and forever remembered by your husband Smudge, son Billy, grandchildren Rachel, Becca and Billy Jnr, great grandchildren Jasmine, Lilly-Mae, Ruby, Thea, Rosie, Robbie and Tommy. I love you and thank you for 16 years of loving marriage, and sharing your life and beautiful heart and soul with all of us. Our departed and dearly loved Jack Russell Jodie will be with you. This month would be our 19th Wedding Anniversary (20.01.2007) God love you and bye for now Little Mo. Remember me – Christina Rossetti. Remember me when I am gone away, Gone far away into the silent land; When you can no more hold me by the hand, Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay. Remember me when no more day by day You tell me of our future that you planned: Only remember me; you understand It will be late to counsel then or pray. Yet if you should forget me for a while And afterwards remember, do not grieve: For if the darkness and corruption leave A vestige of the thoughts that I once had, Better by far you should forget and smile Than you should remember and be sad.

Another year is over without you by our side, if love could have saved you then you would have never died. The precious memories we will always share together, will be remembered forever and ever. Love always from Mo’s very best friends Brenda and Bev. xxx
