HUNDREDS of Scots superfans braved the freezing cold tonight as they queued to meet One Direction hero Louis Tomlinson.

The 34-year-old singer, who shot to fame alongside Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik in the chart-topping boyband, has since carved out a huge solo career.

And today the Lemonade hitmaker treated fans to two Scottish stop-offs to sign copies of his brand-new album How Did I Get Here?

Louis popped into HMV at Ocean Terminal in Edinburgh at midday before heading west to the Argyle Street store in Glasgow at 5pm.

Queues snaked round the block at the venues, with die-hard supporters desperate for a quick word and a prized autograph from the former 1D star.

Mum-and-daughter duo Lizzie and Lauren Cunningham travelled all the way from Belfast just for a fleeting interaction with the popstar.

Donald Trump wants Scots to work for him at incredible location – find out more

Lauren, 23, said: “I’ve been with Louis since day dot. I’ve followed him from the One Direction days right through to now. I’ve seen him in Dublin and with 1D, so this feels a bit surreal.

“I’m obsessed with the new album. I’ve had it on repeat and I honestly can’t wait to meet him. I’m seeing him again when he tours later this year.”

Lizzie, 47, added: “I’m mostly here for moral support but seeing how excited she is, it’s already been worth the trip”.”

After meeting Louis, emotional crowds streamed out of the Glasgow event, with some left teary-eyed and others screaming with excitement.

Pals Jess Reap, 20, Amy Pluck, 21, from Glasgow, and Emily Haggart, 21, from Perth, were all buzzing as they clutched their signed vinyl and CDs.

Jess said: “Meeting Louis was unreal. I was expecting a massive wait, but we’ve definitely queued longer for less.

“He actually asked our favourite songs, which totally threw me. I said Last Night from the new album. I’m counting down to seeing him at the Hydro in April.”

Emily added: “Jump the Gun is my favourite. I genuinely can’t believe we’ve just met him. I’m still trying to process it.”

Speech and Language Therapy student Isla Robertson, 18, from Aberdeen, said: “I’m still shaking. I don’t think my brain’s caught up yet. I told him Dark to Light is my favourite because I’m a sucker for a sad song and when he said he is too, I nearly cried.”

Fine Art Photography student Yuliia Komka, 21, from Ukraine said: “I asked Louis if he had a message for his Ukrainian supporters back home.

“He said it’s such a shame what’s happening and that he’s gutted he can’t tour there because he really misses the chance to meet his Ukrainian fans in person.”

Louis Tomlinson will kick off his world tour in Germany in March before a run of dates across Europe.

He’ll then bring the show to the UK and Ireland, with gigs lined up in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, Dublin, Brighton and London.

After that, Louis heads across the pond to wrap things up with a string of shows in the US and Canada.

Tickets for his Glasgow OVO Hydro date on April 27 are on sale now.
