Sam Dalby bagged a brace as the Whites made it back-to-back home wins to keep up the pace in the promotion race.
Bolton have scored plenty of late goals this season and Schumacher reckons it is a good trait to have.
“I suppose it says something, if you do it that often it can’t be a fluke,” he said after the final whistle.
“I think the work rate and the energy that the players play with is outstanding, and to keep going and keep believing right until the very end is credit to them.
“So long may that continue because it’s important for any team that has to be successful, you don’t know when you’re beat.”
Wanderers haven’t been at their fluid best at times in recent weeks, but Schumacher insists it is about finding ways to win as the games come thick and fast.
“At any stage of the season, but especially right now when it’s really difficult,” he added. “I spoke a lot about the fixture congestion and the pile-up.
“The players have played a lot of minutes, we’ve had injuries the last couple of weeks, but to keep going and take 10 points out the last four games is pleasing.
“I think it’s never an easy game in any fixture in League One, and teams who come here do try and make it difficult for you.
“As long as you stay composed and keep trying to do the right things, then you’ll get your rewards.
“As I say, we didn’t play brilliant but if you look at the numbers and the stats again, we deserved to win the game.”
Dalby is now up to seven goals for the campaign and Schumacher is pleased that the forward’s hard work is starting to reap rewards.
“I praised Sam on Saturday after the (Leyton Orient) game. I said his work rate was absolutely outstanding, and he’s been a real good focal point for us the last few games,” he explained.
“He’s really come into his own and shown how good of a player that he is. I said to him yesterday, ‘If you keep working as hard as you are, you’ll get your rewards, you’ll get your goals, because it’s coming’.
“Tonight, he was excellent again. He led the line well, held the ball up, brought people into play, and what he did which matters the most is he gets in the right areas. He’s in the six-yard box twice and taps it in twice for us, so I’m delighted for him.”
