Charlie Shaw’s Revenge, written and directed by John Langridge, was filmed in East Sussex and follows a group of workers preparing to reopen a struggling adventure park who quickly find themselves trapped and hunted by a silent killer.

The survival horror, produced by Renato Pires and Justin Hayward, puts character and psychological tension at the forefront of its scares, exploring how fear tests relationships and fractures group dynamics.

John Langridge, writer and director, said: “We were interested in how fear changes behaviour – how quickly trust breaks down, how people react when they realise they’re trapped and how survival forces difficult choices.”

At the heart of the story is Marion, played by Cerys Knighton, a new manager thrust into a reluctant leadership role as the situation spirals.

The killer, Otto the Clown, is portrayed by James Payton in a mostly wordless and physically driven performance.

Producer Renato Pires said: “The killer is only part of the threat.

“The real tension comes from being trapped with people you don’t fully trust, when every decision has consequences.

“That’s where the drama and the fear really live.”

The film was shot on location at Knockhatch Adventure Park and the East Sussex School of Circus Arts.

Mr Langridge said: “The environment amplifies what the characters are going through.

“It mirrors their isolation and disorientation, but it never overshadows them.

“The film lives or dies on the emotional journey of the people trapped inside it.”

The cast includes Bill Fellows, Mark Benton, Shahla Ayamah, Amelie Leroy, Billy Cashin, Molly Cattanach, Keri Martin and Aaliyah-Monroe Pires.

Described by Mr Pires as a “pressure-cooker survival story,” the film balances external danger with shifting group dynamics and secrets.

Charlie Shaw’s Revenge will have an industry screening in London on Friday, February 13, 2026, ahead of a planned release on major streaming platforms.

A book adaptation is also in development for 2026.

This event was sponsored by East Sussex local businesses Olive Pine Accountancy, Pxl Wave Graphics, Switch Plane, Lighting fibre, Gianni’s Restaurant, Knockhatch Adventure Park and Acting Moon Events.
