Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has shared a heartfelt message to his ex-teammates Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard following the pair’s encounter this week. Both the United academy graduates are in new pastures after leaving Old Trafford – with the former leaving for Barcelona on loan this summer.

Lingard, 32, now plies his trade in South Korea with FC Seoul and, on Thursday, the La Liga champions ran-out 7-3 winners against them. Rashford was introduced at half-time, while his former United teammate played 81 minutes before he was replaced as Lamine Yamal made headlines with a brace.

The two ex-United stars were seen sharing time together after the full-time whistle and laughing together as they caught up. Lingard then posted a carousel of pictures on to his Instagram, including some with Rashford, Hansi Flick and Yamal with a fingers crossed emoji and a red heart emoji as the caption.

Pogba was then among those to show support in the comments, and took the opportunity to share a heartfelt message, which read: “Rasha x jlings I miss you my guys.”

The 32-year-old Lingard has scored seven goals in 24 appearances, providing three assists in the K-League in his second season at the club.

Lingard has already eclipsed his goals tally from last season, equalling his assist total, following his transfer from Nottingham Forest after being released by the club.

The playmaker saw his time at Old Trafford come to an end under Erik ten Hag.

Rashford’s future, meanwhile, has been unclear for some time after falling out of favour under the club’s now-former manager, before he failed to play his way into Ruben Amorim’s plans, either.

Like Lingard, Rashford left on loan during the January transfer window. He rediscovered his form at Aston Villa, which subsequently saw him return to the England set-up.

However, Unai Emery’s team didn’t trigger their option in his agreement, which saw him face fresh uncertainty at United. The Manchester Evening News reported that Rashford was among the five players who expressed their desire to leave the club and, as a result, his return to first-team training was delayed in order to explore his options.
