Actress Helen Flanagan has revealed how a potential opportunity felt “too grim” for her after speaking with the owners of popular adult site OnlyFans.
Helen also discussed whether she would make a comeback to Coronation Street, a programme she starred in between 2000 and 2012, before reprising the role from 2017 until 2018. She has also featured on shows like I’m A Celebrity and Celebs Go Dating.
The former Coronation Street star revealed she spoke with the site’s owners about potentially joining the platform whose contributors include the likes of Christine McGuinness. This comes after Helen confessed that a decision by her ex Scott Sinclair has “broken my heart”.
Although Helen, 35, said she didn’t want to “belittle any woman who signs” for the site, she confessed that it simply wasn’t for her and decided against joining either platform.
In her new book ‘Head and Heart’ she detailed why she had chosen not to sign up and the emotional impact it had on her, reports the Daily Star.

She said: “It felt too grim. I didn’t want that for myself…I know I post underwear pictures on my social media all the time, but that’s when I’m working for a lingerie or bikini brand. I’m not asking random creepy men to pay me for it.
“I just needed to get out of that meeting room as quickly as possible. When I left, I sat on the stairs outside and cried.”
Looking ahead to her future plans, Helen revealed she wanted to focus her energy on acting and developing her career and earnings in that direction, whilst also sharing her thoughts on potentially returning to Coronation Street.
She said: “I want to concentrate my efforts on acting over the next year and see where it takes me.
“I’m not sure if a return to Corrie is on the cards at all, but I’d be open to it somewhere along the line. I think it could be iconic to see Rosie back in Weatherfield again.”

Although Helen expressed uncertainty about going back to Coronation Street, she has previously revealed that one of her co-stars, Alison King, condemned the way the programme sexualised her when she was so young.
She told the Mirror: “Was it morally right that I was expected to parade about in my knickers like some mad nymphomaniac when I was still just a teenager?”.
“Alison King, who plays Carla Connor, once kicked off in the green room, saying how disgusting it was that they were sexualising me when I was a young girl. I didn’t fully comprehend what she was talking about at the time. I do now. I get it.
“Everything has changed now, which I’m glad about. They wouldn’t write it in quite the same way all these years later and since the Me Too movement.”
