Carrie Bradshaw has been a New York City icon for almost 30 years, and now it’s time to say goodbye. On the heels of the news that the Sex and the City revival series will end with season 3, Sarah Jessica Parker reacted to And Just Like That…’s cancellation with a bittersweet farewell message on Instagram. And she’s not the only cast member mourning the show.
Here’s what the And Just Like That… cast had to say about the show’s cancellation.
Sarah Jessica Parker
SJP wasted no time in responding to the cancellation news. She shared a video montage of photos from Sex and the City and And Just Like That… over the years to her Instagram page. The slideshow was accompanied by a Carrie-style voiceover from the actor, who paid tribute to her iconic character. “She crossed streets, avenues, rubicons, so it seemed,” she wrote in part.
“Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all,” her caption continued. “I know others have loved her just as I have. Been frustrated, condemned and rooted for her. The symphony of all those emotions has been the greatest soundtrack and most consequential companion. Therefore the most sentimental and profound gratitude and lifetime of debt.”
Recognizing that the “chapter” of And Just Like That… was now over, the actor called the show “all joy, adventure, the greatest kind of hard work alongside the most extraordinary talent of 380 that includes all the brilliant actors who joined us.”
She concluded her statement by thanking all the fans, and saying, “I hope you love these final two episodes as much as we all do.”
Actor Mario Cantone, aka Anthony Marentio on AJLT, commented on the post, leaving a string of heart emojis alongside the message. “It was a beautiful journey,” he wrote. “Thank you for all of it.”

She continued with a message to the fans, “To everyone who watched and loved the show as much as I did, thank you for enjoying Rock and all their journey on screen!!”
