Highly rated striker Nathan Lowe has joined Wycombe Wanderers on loan from Stoke City until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old had signed a season-long deal with Stockport, scoring seven goals in 26 appearances, but after picking a leg injury in late December, he returned to his parent club at the start of the month.

That has not prevented a new loan deal for the striker, with Wycombe, eighth in League One, hoping to benefit when he returns to full fitness.

Lowe enjoyed a superb loan spell last season with Walsall, scoring 15 goals in 22 league games and was named League Two young player of the year.

“He’s a hugely talented striker that we believe can play a big role for us as we enter the business end of the season,” Wycombe’s director of football strategy and data intelligence Tom Stockwell told the club website., external
