The Masked Singer is edging ever closer to the final and two of its stars are said to be in particular danger of elimination. The nation’s favourite guessing game, which sees celebrities dress up in elaborate costumes in a bid to conceal their identity as they perform pop songs, returned to ITV at the start of 2025, and already several major names have been exposed on the hit series.
So far, stars like Sex Pistols rocker John Lydon, rapper Professor Green and, most recently, singer Kate Nash and Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke have been unmasked. Now though, bookies think that it could be Toastie and Sloth who could be next out, after weeks of speculation over their identities.
Sloth currently has odds of 2/5 of elimination, whilst Toastie has odds of 5/6. A spokesperson at Betway, said: “Now that we’re one step closer to the final, the competition is only going to get tougher, with another double-unmasking on the horizon.

“Despite avoiding the bottom three during last weekend’s episode, all eyes are pointing towards Sloth, who is the 2/5 favourite to be eliminated next after his less-than-memorable performance of Green Green Grass by George Ezra left much to be desired on the main stage.
“Though he isn’t alone in being up for the chop, as Toastie is priced up at 5/6 to join Sloth in a double unmasking, after a string of ‘safe’ performances which have let him skate by the competition so far.”
“With both of them facing elimination, Saturday’s episode is shaping up to be nothing short of a high-stakes showdown!” Judges Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross and Maya Jama have already thrown a lot of names about as to who could be Sloth, with stars like fitness guru Joe Wicks, TV chef Jamie Oliver, Good Morning Britain’s Ed Balls, Chris Moyles, and Ben Fogle having been thrown into the mix.
Meanwhile, there has been a lot of speculation that West End actress Brenda Edwards is Toastie, and even her Loose Women co-stars were convinced that she was the mystery celeb in the extravagant costume. “My phone has been going off,” she said as Coleen Nolan confronted her about it on air. But continuing to deflect, Brenda added: “I’m really enjoying the show, it’s really exciting and entertaining, isn’t it? You’ve all been asking, stop it.”

I’m A Celebrity‘s Jane Moore was also confident that her fellow panellist Brenda was behind the mask, as she reasoned: “I am totally convinced it’s you. I can’t work out the red hat but I’m thinking Toastie because you’re always warm. I am convinced. I will put money on it right now.”
Despite her denial, viewers still think it could be Brenda, who initially found fame on The X Factor in 2005 and then went on to star in musicals like Hairspray, Chicago and Queen’s jukebox hit We Will Rock You.
One fan wrote on X: “Calling it now, Toastie is Brenda Edwards,” whilst another said: “I’m going with Brenda Edwards for Toastie. #MaskedSingerUK.” and a third said: “Toastie – Brenda Edwards. #MaskedSingerUK.” But another fan was sure it was Marcus Collins, who is, of course, known to fans for X Factor. Despite this, some fans think it might be Brenda’s fellow ITV Daytime star Alison Hammond, who presents This Morning.
Some viewers say that Alison, who has been a regular face on screen since she competed on Big Brother in 2002, is ‘definitely’ the star behind the costume, with many saying that they heard a give-away Brummie accent underneath the fake Liverpool accent they were trying to put on.
