A second man has been arrested on suspicion of murder as inquiries continue into the death of a man in Chesterfield.
The incident occurred shortly before 1pm on Tuesday, January 20 at a house in Southgate Way, Barrow Hill, after reports a man had been assaulted.
Jason Smith, of Southgate Way, was found at the address and was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and died on Thursday, January 22.
A 20-year-old man from Sheffield was arrested on suspicion of his murder and released on police bail. On Thursday, January 29, a second man was arrested on suspicion of Mr Smith’s murder in Sheffield.
The 46-year-old man, of no-fixed abode, was recalled to prison on a separate matter – and has been released on bail following his arrest on suspicion of murder.
