Katie Price shocked friends, family and fans when she revealed she had got married – for the fourth time – in Dubai. Katie announced her engagement to a mystery man last week before revealing the identity of her new beau as Lee Andrews (also known as Wes Lee Andrews) before revealing the pair tied the knot in a quickie wedding.

At the time of the huge announcement, Kate called Lee her “Richard Gere” but claims made about the Dubai businessman paint a very different picture. A week on from their romantic nuptials, a source has now claimed to the Mirror that her new husband has served jail time, is a ‘compulsive liar’ – and she should be very wary indeed. The fellow Brit has claimed to us that he shared a cell in a Dubai Central Prison with Lee for a period of three weeks in October last year – and that they fear for the former glamour model’s marriage – claiming that Katie’s new husband is a “scammer” of the highest degree, and the mother-of-five should be very wary.

Lee was contacted by The Mirror for comment, where he denied all the allegations.

“Katie Price’s wedding is just another of his scams”, they claimed. “All I can say is, I really hope she made him sign a pre-nup. He was a compulsive bulls***ter inside. But even now, he’s saying he’s part of the Labor Party and friends with Elon Musk and I can’t prove it, but for me that’s just absolutely absurd.”

Earlier this week, the Mirror unravelled a string of Lee’s outlandish online claims including his claim on LinkedIn that he was a Member Of The Board of Advisors of the Labour Party but a Labour source told: “We don’t have a ‘Board of Advisors’ and this individual doesn’t work with us.” Lee later said he is merely a supporter of the Labour Party but has not changed his LinkedIn profile.

Lee also claims on his LinkedIn that he is the Founder of Royalton hotel chain’s Blue Diamond Resorts. However, a spokesperson for Royalton Hotels told us: “We can confirm that Dr Wes Lee Andrews (also known as Lee Andrews or Lee Peter John Andrews) is not founder of Blue Diamond Resorts, now known as Royalton Hotels & Resorts. Based on our corporate records, he has not been affiliated with the company in any professional capacity.”

The source claims that he got to know Lee well as they were living in such close contact in an over-crowded wing in the Dubai prison. He said, “For the duration of time Lee was there we were close because there were only three British people in our Wing.”

Explaining the set-up inside the prison, he said, “There was one large rectangular room with 10 cells inside. Each cell has 6 beds and a bathroom.” They added: “Lee was in my cell for the duration of his stay and actually slept on a mattress on the floor, because our block was over populated. We had 65-70 people at any given time and only 60 beds in total across 10 cells in our block.”

The source also claimed the self-titled billionaire was asking fellow inmates for loans to help with his case. They added: “He said the payment he needed to make was around 30,000 dirhams. He asked myself and two other inmates in our cell if he could borrow that money from us and he would repay it immediately upon his release.

“I said I couldn’t afford to lend him that money but I continued to give him financial assistance inside the jail giving him things he needed like telephone cards and canteen items and clothing.” After a week inside central jail, our source claimed Lee borrowed money from someone outside whom he told him was his ex-wife “Cez” to pay the minimum amount required to be released.

They added, “At this point he expected to be released but was then told by Dubai Police that he had three further Civil Cases with outstanding determinations that he needed to resolve before he could leave.

“That’s the exact information he relayed to us. Two weeks after this he was released. He didn’t tell us who provided the money to help him resolve these other three civil cases or how much he had to pay.

“For the duration of the time he was inside he did not have anyone outside depositing money for him onto his jailcard and relied on other inmates (mainly myself) to help him with the small things he needed, which I did.”

But the source did not form a close bond with Lee on the inside, as they explained: “I found him to be a compulsive liar and didn’t enjoy his company. Lee was only interested in what he could benefit from other people, myself included. He did get into a few physical fights with other inmates, too.”

Describing the seemingly bleak conditions of the jail, the source claimed they were “extremely poor” and treatment of inmates as tantamount to “mental and physical torture”. He claimed that Lee focused a lot on working out while in prison, as there were no televisions for distraction and inmates could only go outside once a week.

He explained, “Lee was big into his fitness. He made these improvised dumbbells from the materials he could find in prison. He managed to get his hands on jail water bottles and tied them onto a broken brush pole as improvised dumbbells.”

When contacted by the Mirror a Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office spokesperson said: “We supported a British national who was detained in the United Arab Emirates.”
