A 57-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and other offences after Anglesey mum Jennifer Brown died in a crash near the A55 Conwy Tunnel
A man has been arrested following the tragic death of a much-loved mum and gran on the A55. Jennifer Brown, known as Jenny to her friends, died in a horrific collision on the A55, near the Conwy Tunnel.
Three others were left seriously injured after the collision between a lorry and car on Thursday January 29.
Today a North Wales Police spokesperson said: “We can confirm that a 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been released on police bail whilst our investigations continue.”
Both sides of the expressway were shut and several air ambulances were deployed at the crash scene, alongside a major emergency response, following the collision.
The three other people also injured in the crash, are understood to be members of Ms Brown’s family.

Devastated work colleagues paid an emotional tribute to Ms Brown, who worked at the Glan Rhos Nursing Home, fomr more than two decades.
A statement from the nursing home said: “Jenny, affectionately known to everyone here as ‘Queen,’ has been a valued member of staff at Glan Rhos for over 20 years. Not just a member of staff she was family.
“She first walked through the door as a shy 17-year-old and, over time, blossomed into the caring and compassionate person we all came to know and love. “She never arrived at work without her make-up, especially her signature lipstick and favourite perfume. Jenny was deeply proud of her family, a devoted mother and grandmother. The news of her passing in such tragic circumstances has saddened us all, our thoughts and prayers go out to the family members also in the accident.
“This devastating news has profoundly affected everyone at Glan Rhos – staff, patients, and families alike. We have already received messages and phone calls offering condolences to Jenny’s family and everyone at the home.”
