With its release now just weeks away, Capcom has taken a different approach to its Resident Evil Requiem marketing push today in the form of a live-action short film.
The three-minute film depicts a mother living in Raccoon City on the day of the zombie outbreak, with the mum played by Maika Monroe, the lead of It Follows and Longlegs. Of course, returning to Raccoon City after the bombs dropped is a key story element in this month’s Resident Evil Requiem. You can view the short film above.
Resident Evil Requiem launches on PS5 on 27th February 2026, and we recently had the chance to play a decent portion of the game — including as Leon. Read our first impressions ahead of release:

That three minute clip is better than the entirety of the new Silent Hill movie. The acting too.
Day one for me. This one looks very good
@Oram77 And yet that beard was the most realistic thing about the whole movie, it has some of the saddest CGI to ever befall a licensed movie. It’s been about three weeks and I still find it hard to watch a movie. The experience went from confusion to disappointment right onto frustration and finally topped off with anger. They absolutely butchered the name of Silent Hill. At this rate Scream 7 will be better.
That trailer was great! Going to get the lenticular version due to the deluxe steelbook one not being the best. Thought they would’ve made more of an effort. Yep I’m getting excited now.

Cool! One of the few games I’m preordering this year.
The “new” zombies in the games now have the really sad attachment to them, and that trailer gives them more “lore”. I hope it is damn good! It sure looks that way for now!
