This week’s update features points scored in the one day World Tour Mapei Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race, Pro Tour level stage race AlUla Tour, one day Spanish semi classics (Trofeo Calvià , Trofeo Ses Salines, Trofeo Serra Tramuntana, Trofeo Andratx – Pollença and Trofeo Palma) and Grand Prix La Marseillaise. You can check the previous UCI Rankings update here. After an unusual start of the season in which UAE Team Emirates – XRG was not on top of the table, things have gone back to normal as they are now leading the way, having surpassed Jayco AlUla. They have 1721 points, meaning they earned around 1000 points throughout the week. The Emirati squad had a successful week in Saudi Arabia, securing the general classification of the AlUla Tour with Jan Christen after a perfectly timed attack in the final kilometres of the last stage that allowed him to take home the stage win as well. He contributed with 270 UCI points to the team’s tally. His teammate Igor Arrieta had an excellent performance as well, finishing in third place of the GC, while Kevin Vermaerke was eleventh.
UAE was also busy in Spain throughout the week, with Antonio Morgado delivering outstanding results. The Portuguese rider was the designated leader in Mallorca and certainly performed as expected. He won Trofeo Calvià and finished inside the top 10 in the other three races he participated in, amassing 279 UCI points.
Team Jayco AlUla sits in second place with 1419 points, mostly thanks to Mauro Schmid. The Swiss rider is having an excellent start of the season in Australia, and he was third at the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race, giving 260 points to his team. Andrea Vendrame also contributed with a handful of points, finishing inside the top 15 in all the Spanish races. Not everything was positive for the squad, as they undepeformed in their home race. They were expected to fight for the AlUla Tour GC with Alan Hatherly and Paul Double, but both riders were far from their best version. Pascal Ackermann was the man for the sprints, but he was also pretty absent from the race.XDS Astana Team completes the podium, after a productive week that allowed them to rise seven spots. Several riders contributed to the team’s tally, mostly Sergio Higuita and Christian Scaroni. The Colombian rider had a great shot at securing the GC of the AlUla Tour, which would have been his first professional victory since 2023, but he ultimately fell short by 13 seconds. He was second nonetheless, bringing home 170 points.Scaroni was very active in Spain, carrying the great shape from the past week, in which he won Classica Camp de Morvedre. He didn’t win this week, but he was always in the mix, earning 120 points. Other riders such as Matteo Malucelli (he won the fourth stage of the AlUla Tour), Max Kanter (second at Trofeo Palma), Nicolas Vinokurov (seventh in the GC of AlUla) and Aaron Gate (tenth at the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race) rounded up a great week for the Kazakh squad.Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe was in 16th place last week, but that totally changed thanks to a certain Belgian rider. Remco Evenepoel made his debut with the German team and didn’t waste any time. He started in three races in Spain, and he won all three very convincingly. A promising start for Evenepoel, who is not leaving Spain this week, as he is set to participate in the Volta Comunitat Valenciana. His teammate Arne Marit also had a dream debut, winning Trofeo Palma even if he was supposed to do the leadout for Alessio Magagnotti.
