Ambulance staff immediately carried out advanced life support – but nothing more could be done to save him

A man died at a Birmingham railway station this afternoon.
He was found in a critical condition at Tyseley station shortly before 2pm today, Wednesday, February 3. Bystanders were trying to save his life when ambulances arrived off Roma Road.
Despite immediate life-support by paramedics on scene, nothing could be done to save him. He was confirmed dead at the scene.

An air ambulance and critical care car were among the resources sent to help. A picture from the scene showed the ambulance service at the station.
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 1.46pm to an incident on Roma Road, Small Heath. Two ambulances, two paramedic officers, the Hazardous Area Response Team, the critical care car and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the scene.
“Upon arrival we found a man in a critical condition being cared for by bystanders. Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support and advanced trauma care to him at the scene.
“Sadly, it became clear nothing more could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased at the scene.”
