Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Ro Hutchinson is set to announce a big life change in new Hollyoaks scenes — though one character isn’t too pleased. The plot marks the first significant storyline for the character, who is trans, since actor Leo Cole took over part from Ava Webster last year. The recast came alongside new actors Brook Debio and Chloe Atkinson also taking over the roles of siblings Ant and Dee Dee.
In next week’s scenes, Ro declares to his family that he wants to become a mechanic, though mum Diane isn’t happy about his decision. Ro also conveys his plans to his siblings and that he doesn’t want to go to university, as Ant offers to try and talk their mum round.
Putting his plan into action, Ro goes to ask Rex for a job, and having secured the gig turns up at the garage ready to go.
However, Diane gets wind of her son skipping school and goes to find him at the garage, telling him that he must go to university and that he must put the matter to bed.
Will she be convinced otherwise?

The scenes come ahead of Alex Fletcher’s reported exit from Hollyoaks as Diane, with the star apparently set to film her final scenes in the coming months.
Meanwhile, Ro is set to play an important role in Rex’s storyline as he grapples with a secret.

In recent scenes, fans saw the character applying late mum Grace Black’s lipstick in the mirror, speaking to her in his mind as he revealed that he was giving his inheritance to the teens after the horrors they subjected them to.
The moment also saw him repeat the word “happy” while seeing himself with the lipstick, though is shaken as he decides to keep his experimentation private. However, Ste Hay subsequently spotted lipstick on Rex’s collar and when later pressed, Rex took drastic action.
