Beamish Park Golf Club has secured a £400,000 funding facility to support major improvements, including refurbishment of visitor facilities, upgrades to its on-site shop, and development of mobile home and visitor parking.

“It allows us to invest in the areas that will generate new income and improve the experience for our members and visitors, while also simplifying and restructuring our existing borrowing.

“The support from UMi Get Funding was invaluable.

“Dave took the time to fully understand our situation and guided us through the options, ensuring we ended up with a solution that genuinely works for the club both now and in the future.”

The funding, secured through specialist support from UMi Get Funding, was provided by peer-to-peer lender FOLK2FOLK.

The financial package is designed not only to enable investment in new infrastructure but also to help restructure existing debt.

The club, based in County Durham, plans to enhance its facilities as part of a broader strategy to become a year-round destination for visitors.

Upgrades will include refurbishing Beamish Lodge to create visitor accommodation and improving retail and parking amenities on site.

Dave Jones, business funding adviser at UMi Get Funding, said: “Beamish Park Golf Club came to us with a clear ambition to invest in its future while also bringing its historic finances into better shape.

“Our role was to identify a funding solution that would reduce monthly pressures, provide breathing space, and give the business time to see the results of its plans coming through.

“By securing a facility with FOLK2FOLK, we were able to deliver a competitive structure that meets those objectives and supports the club’s longer-term plans.”

By upgrading its facilities, Beamish Park Golf Club hopes to attract more tourists, increase spending in the area, and support local supply chains and job creation.

The funding arrangement is structured to deliver both immediate financial relief and long-term flexibility.

This dual objective will allow the club to invest in growth while improving its financial stability.

Tracey Gott, relationship manager at FOLK2FOLK, said: “We’re delighted to support Beamish Park Golf Club with this funding package.

“As a peer-to-peer lender, we take a case-by-case approach and work closely with trusted advisers like UMi Get Funding to ensure businesses receive finance that is appropriate for their circumstances and ambitions.

“This facility will help the club invest, grow and move forward with confidence.”
