Death in Paradise’s Shantol Jackson has given fans a sneak peek into what they can expect for her character in the new series.
The BBC crime drama – which follows police trying to solve cases while working on the fictitious Caribbean island of Saint Marie – is filmed on Guadeloupe, and it is known for its stunning island scenes, reports the Express.
However, actress Shantol has revealed that her character, Detective Sergeant (DS) Naomi Thomas, will experience something different in the current series, which started last month
When asked about her favourite moments from the show’s 15th season, she said: “Episode six is my favourite episode because of who Naomi teams up with, plus it’s in a new location.”

The star added: “We also have a hilarious group of theatre actors performing a Shakespeare play who were all so funny, we had a great time with them. The play was The Tempest, so we had a beautiful shipwreck set on the beach, which was fantastic.”
Naomi is also due to embark on an unexpected journey with Commissioner Selwyn (Don Warrington) during this series, and Shantol shared that it was another highlight of filming.
“Pairing up with Selwyn was one of my favourite moments of this series, it was so much fun,” she said.
“We also get to see a different side to Selwyn out working in the field.

“For Naomi, it’s like working with a different Inspector and learns so much from him during that time. There’s also the fact the case they’re pursuing is personal to them both, so they connected on both a professional and personal level.”
“We need more pairings of Naomi and Selwyn!” exclaimed the star.
Death in Paradise first aired in 2011 and the series has since become a firm favourite among viewers, who are gripped by the mysterious happenings in Saint Marie. The beloved show, which features Don Gilet as DI Mervin Wilson, made its much-anticipated return to television last month for its 15th series.
