Back in 2024, the Japanese publisher said it would be “aggressively” pursuing a multi-platform strategy from that point on, as it strives “to maximise the acquisition of new users when launching a title and that of recurring users after starting management of game operation”.

In years past, Square Enix has allowed its games to become tied up in timed-exclusivity deals, with another example being Final Fantasy 16. Now, with this new approach to game releases, it’s putting everything everywhere as much as possible.

Should the prediction of a Summer Game Fest reveal come to fruition, then that should also be the venue where we learn the game’s official name. Square Enix has one internally, but has yet to publicly share it.
