The rubbish was removed by the council’s street cleansing team on Monday January 26 but they have not been able to support enforcement action.

A spokesperson for the council said: “When fly-tips are reported, the council inspects the rubbish for evidence and investigates. We take action against the perpetrators where there is evidence to do so.

“In this case, there was no evidence we could use to support enforcement action and we would appeal for anyone with information about this case to contact the council.”

The McDonalds receipt showed an order of a double cheeseburger and large fries, purchased on January 21.
