“Patient safety is our highest priority,” said a CUH spokesperson.
“We continually review outcomes across our services to identify where improvements can be made and to ensure patients receive the best possible care.”
The review, first reported by Sky News, external, is being carried out by two royal colleges – which are the medical bodies responsible for setting standards across the UK.
It follows the start of another external review into Kuldeep Stohr, who is being investigated over hundreds of surgeries involving children at the hospital.
In October, Addenbrooke’s was criticised for missed opportunities to reduce harm to patients.
According to the hospital’s website, external, Addenbrooke’s provides acute neurosurgical services for all of East Anglia.
The neurosciences services include a critical care unit as well as research facilities.
