Gerwyn Price has plans to star in a TV series thanks to his latest business acquisition.
The former darts world champion has diversified his portfolio in recent years, with his prize money from the sport not the only income boosting his bank balance. Price, 40, opened his own chip shop, called Chippy 501, in 2024 and has since become a success in his hometown of Markham.
The world No. 12’s entrepreneurial spirit shows no signs of slowing down as he revealed earlier this week that he’s bought a farm. After purchasing a small holding in Treharris, Price teased that the renovation project soon to be underway on the land will be captured on camera.
Dismissing any comparisons to Jeremy Clarkson’s hit series Clarkson’s Farm, which documents the former Top Gear presenter attempting to run a 1,000-acre farm, Price said any TV series will be based on the renovation.
He told the Tops and Tales podcast: “I’ve just bought a farm. That’s in Treharris. There might be a series on it. I think a documentary, or maybe a TV channel coming in and filming. Not like Clarkson’s Farm or something. Just for the renovation side of it.
“It’s going to be out there soon. But if not, then I’ll probably end up doing something like this and chucking it on YouTube from start to finish. It’s going to take 12–18 months to get everything sorted before we actually move on.

“I just can’t wait for it to be complete. It’s something that I have always wanted — just a bit of a smallholding. Something out of the way a little bit so I can have a bit of privacy. When I retire, I’ll probably run it as a decent farm.
“But I’m probably going to lease most of the land out and have some chickens and some of the little animals — just for now.” The Premier League star admitted his need for privacy stemmed from the incessant attention he’s received for building Chippy 501 next to his house.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.
He explained: “I probably shouldn’t, but people were like, ‘Oh, are you building a fish and chip shop right next door to your house?’ I was like, perfect — out the door, in, get some chips and back in the house.
“But it does bring the negatives, where there are a lot of people around there, obviously, which is good for the business. Then I have people knocking on my door and walking up my drive, and I just think I need to move myself away a little bit from the business, which is going to be a nice farm.”
Regarding the oche, Price has had a bright start to 2026. He reached the semi-finals of the World Masters but lost a close 5-4 match to eventual winner Luke Littler. However, the Welshman did bank £30,000 for his run to the final four.
