The incident, which took place on Monday, February 2, 2026, saw a woman in her 50s bitten by a dog just outside Liden School in Swindon.
The victim is understood to have been a local runner, who was running past the school when a dog being walked in the opposite direction bit her on the leg.
Following the incident, officers from Wiltshire Police are now looking for a woman they believe is connected.
The police force has released an image of a woman with brown hair, wearing a blue waterproof coat and grey leggings, walking a black and white dog.

Anyone who recognises her should get in touch with Wiltshire Police.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We would like to speak to the woman pictured in connection with an incident in Liden during which a woman was bitten by a dog.
“Anyone with information should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54260013293. Alternatively, call CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
At this stage, the severity of the dog bite or the victim’s injuries is not known.
