Passengers who booked tour packages through an agency have been left in the dark after the company ceased trading last month. Asiara UK Ltd, based in Ipswich provided small group tours and tailor-made packages to destinations such as Thailand, China, India, Japan and Singapore.
But now the company, that was originally known as Haivenu Tours, filed to be struck off and dissolved in October last year, according to Companies House.
Asira had offices in both Northern and Southern Vietnam and expanded to Asiara Holidays in the UK in 2022 but was removed from Companies House register on January 6 and dissolved on January 13. It then ceased trading as an ATOL holder on January 21, leaving customers without their flights.

However ATOL (Air Travel Organiser’s Licence) offers financial protection to customers, and guarantees that customers recieve full refunds if a company collapses. All tour companies are required to be ATOL protected – giving people a peace of mind when booking through them.
The company operated under a franchise arrangement with Protected Trust Services (PTS), the ATOL website explained. The PTS website says members offer protection “from the moment you book to the minute you arrive home” and that “every Protected Trust Services (PTS) Member shares our mission to keep consumers safe.
“So whether you’re booking a weekend away or a round-the-world cruise, a staycation or the overseas trip of a lifetime, your money is fully protected.” The ATOL website adds that anyone who requires assistance regarding their Asiara UK Ltd booking should contact PTS directly by emailing emma.collis@protectedtrustservices.com.
PTS Managing Director Emma Collis told Travel Gossip the company was operating tours to Vietnam but decided to wind down the business from August last year before it officially dissolved two weeks ago according to National World.
It comes after well-known travel firm Gold Crest Holidays, based in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, declared it has stopped trading after over 30 years. The family-run coach tour operator, which specialised in trips to Disneyland Paris, European city breaks, and major sporting events, cited a mix of financial pressures as the reason for the closure. It confirmed it ceased operations with immediate effect on January 23, 2026, and is “deeply saddened” to have entered voluntary liquidation.
Gold Crest Holidays, which also operated under the names Advent, Advent Tours and Overseas Dream Weddings, has stated that all future departures are cancelled and that ABTA will manage refunds.
The firm said the decision came after the “severe” impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, changes to key business arrangements and a challenging trading environment driven by sharply escalating costs. The company announced on its website on January 23 that it has stopped trading.
The business thanked customers, travel agents, suppliers and staff for their loyalty over the years, adding that it was “deeply saddened” to be unable to continue trading, reports the Express.
