Nintendo, Universal Pictures and Illumination have premiered a new 30-second TV spot for “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” the sequel to 2023’s “The Super Mario Bros. Movie”.

The new spot, quite possibly the one that will air during this weekend’s Super Bowl, shows off more Yoshi, Baby Bowser and the various worlds that the film will visit.

The first film debuted in April 2023 and went on to gross $1.361 billion worldwide. It became the second-highest-grossing film of 2023, the third-highest-grossing animated film of all time, and the eighteenth-highest-grossing film of all time.

Chris Pratt (Mario), Charlie Day (Luigi), Anya Taylor-Joy (Princess Peach), Jack Black (Bowser), Keegan-Michael Key (Toad), Kevin Michael Richardson (Kamek) are all confirmed to be returning for the new film which will be the centerpiece of the Mario character’s 40th anniversary

In addition, Brie Larson has been confirmed as the voice of Rosalina and Benny Safdie is Bowser Jr. The “Super Mario Galaxy” games story will serve as the core for the new film’s story, but surprises for fans of every Mario-era are in store.

Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic are back as directors and Brian Tyler is handling the score, which will blend musical themes from the games.

“The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” opens in cinemas on April 1st.
