If you live in an area full of wildlife, chances are you’ve encountered a friendly animal or two in your yard. We’re in north Georgia and have seen deer and rabbits with their babies, raccoons, squirrels, and even a beautiful barred owl like the one in this video, who’ve allowed us to get close, but never this close!

A woman named Victoria, who lives in Louisiana, built an owl box in her yard and eventually had both a male and female owl move in. Over time, they’ve raised owlets that have come and gone, and along the way, Victoria has formed a sort of friendship with the mother owl. Make sure your sound is on, because the owl lets Victoria know she’s there and patiently waits for her to bring a few treats.

Is it weird we’re jealous of the relationship between Victoria and the owl? In the caption, Victoria said, “She had a lot to say!” It makes us want to build an owl box for our own yard ASAP so we can have conversations with an owl!
