Paramount has added one more movie to their 2026 slate, Jonathan Levine’s untitled John Tuggle movie, taking their domestic count for the year to 13 titles in ComScore.

In addition, they’ve dated the western The Rescue from Motor City filmmaker Potsy Ponciroli for Jan 29, 2027 and the feature directorial debut of One Battle After Another Oscar nominee Teyana Taylor, Get Lite, for April 9, 2027. In addition, the Melrose lot is holding a space for an untitled horror event movie on July 16, 2027.

The John Tuggle movie follows the true story of Tuggle aka “Mr. Irrelevant” of the 1983 draft. He was the last player chosen in the last round, by the New York Giants, and it was a decision that went on to make an enduring impact on the team and his teammates. Currently the other movie dated for Christmas Day is Robert Eggers’ Werwulf from Focus Features. Disney Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday and Warner Bros Legendary’s Dune: Part Three are opening on Dec. 18, the latter with Imax screens. Levine, Gillian Bohrer and Nick Santora are producers on Tuggle which stars David Corenswet, Michael Shannon and Isabel May.

The Rescue which stars Brandon Sklenar and Hassie Harrison is a modern day western in which a rodeo cowboy’s skills are put to the test outside the arena. Ponciroli directs, and he produces with Shannon Houchins, and Cliff Roberts. Currently, The Rescue is the only major studio feature dated for the end of January next year.

The Storm Reid starring Get Lite follows a talented, but sheltered, dance student finds inspiration, love, and family in the last place he expected: the subways of New York City. In addition to making her feature directorial debut after several music videos, Taylor also is EP. Producers are Kenya Barris, Anni Weisband (Khalabo Ink Society), Storm Reid, Robyn Simpson (A Seed & Wings Productions), Bill Karesh (OFFBRND). Get Lite is currently the only major motion picture studio title dated for April 9 next year.

The three 2027 additions bring next year’s film slate count for Paramount to nine titles.
