Wheeler Dealers host Mike Brewer has revealed the one vehicle he would “never” work on, with a classic American model fitting the bill. The host of the classic car restoration series was asked if there was any cars that he would not work on after suffering bad experiences.

Mike quickly admitted he was completely avoiding the Chrysler PT Cruiser, a compact car built by the American marque in the 2000s. The compact MPV is a 5-door hatchback fitted with a 2.4 litre engine and capable of up to 121mph. However, the model is better known for its unique styling, with a retro front end unlike anything else seen on the road.

X user @robdawn12 asked Mike: “Is there any car you would never touch? Something you’ve nothing but bad experience with?” Mike quickly messaged back with a simple two word response, posting: “PT Cruiser”.

It’s not the first time the Wheeler Dealers presenter has slammed the American car, with Mike previously mentioning the model when asked a similar question last year. Speaking in 2025, Mike blasted the car as “hideous” and blasted the vehicle as the “worst design ever”.

He said: “It would be a Chrysler PT Cruiser, convertible, in yellow. That would be my nemesis. That’s my kryptonite. I can’t stand yellow cars and I can’t stand the PT Cruiser and I can’t stand a convertible even more.

“They are just hideous. Some kid after he took an overdose of Calpol got a crayon and drew the worst design ever. He needs a punch whoever designed it. He does. Sorry if you’ve got one. It’s hideous.”

Used car marketplace sites such as AutoTrader have Chrysler PT Cruiser models listed online for just over £2,500. However, total second-hand costs will depend more on the condition of the vehicle, with some models available for almost £4,500.

Later Chrysler PT Cruiser models featured a turbocharged engine with better acceleration. The model also underwent a facelift in 2006, with these models offering a refreshed and modern interior.
