Smriti Mandhana’s WPL triumph sparks online buzz as her mother reshapes a viral meme trolling Palash Muchhal, with fans calling the win a deeply personal comeback.
After Smriti Mandhana led RCB to their maiden WPL title, her mother Smita Mandhana reshared a viral meme taking a dig at Palash Muchhal, triggering fresh chatter online.
Smriti Mandhana’s triumphant run in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) has been nothing short of cathartic. Leading Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to their maiden WPL title, the Indian cricketer found herself at the centre of an emotional outpouring from fans who had stood by her through a turbulent personal phase. The victory came months after Smriti’s wedding to singer-composer Palash Muchhal was abruptly called off, a moment that had placed her private life under intense public scrutiny.
As congratulatory messages flooded social media, a parallel wave of memes also surfaced, many of them taking pointed digs at Palash. Adding fuel to the chatter, one such meme was reshared by Smriti’s mother, Smita Mandhana, shortly after the final.
Smriti’s Mother Shares Meme Targeting Palash
The viral meme cheekily suggested that Smriti dismantled the Delhi Capitals bowling attack in the WPL final as if she were seeing her ex’s face in every opposition player she smashed out of the park. Smita Mandhana reposted the meme on her private Instagram account, along with several other celebratory posts praising her daughter’s grit and resilience.

Among the posts reshared was a deeply emotional note highlighting Smriti’s strength during her most difficult days. The message read, “They never saw the nights you cried in silence, one and a half months of storms within. Battles fought where no crowd claps, where strength is born quietly, unseen. Trolls screamed loud, tried to dim your fire, questioned your worth, your every move. But you chose grace over noise and let your bat speak the truth.”
The tribute continued, “You didn’t just play the game, you led, you rose, you inspired. Today you weren’t just outstanding, you were unbreakable, fierce, free. You didn’t survive the storm, Smriti, you became what strength looks like.”
What Went Wrong Between Smriti Mandhana And Palash Muchhal?
Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal had been in a long-term relationship and were reportedly set to get married on November 23. However, just a day before the wedding, it was announced that the ceremony had been called off, initially citing Smriti’s father’s ill health as the reason.
Soon after, more serious allegations emerged. Vidnyan Mane, who claimed to be a childhood friend of Smriti, accused Palash of infidelity just a day before the wedding. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Mane alleged, “I was at the wedding celebrations when he was caught red-handed with another woman in bed. Bhayanak scene tha, he was beaten up by the Indian female cricketers.”
The claims further intensified the controversy around the sudden cancellation, though neither Smriti nor Palash has publicly addressed the allegations in detail.
For now, Smriti Mandhana’s focus remains firmly on cricket. Her WPL triumph has come to symbolise not just sporting excellence, but quiet resilience in the face of personal heartbreak—something fans, and evidently her family, believe she has answered with grace and authority.
