A major UK fashion chain has fallen into administration for the third time in six years, putting dozens of high-street stores under threat and leading to more than 100 redundancies. Founded 33 years ago, the womenswear brand entered administration on February 5. 109 redundancies will be made at its Glasgow head office and Bellshill distribution centre in Lanarkshire.

Quiz employs around 565 staff, currently operates 40 stores across the UK and Northern Ireland, alongside seven concessions in the Republic of Ireland. Administrators have confirmed that all stores and concessions will continue trading for now while the business’s future is reviewed.

The retailer said its online store has closed with immediate effect, and customers are no longer able to place orders.

Online purchases made before 5 February can no longer be returned in the usual way, with customers instead advised to visit a store to exchange items, while refunds for previously returned online orders will not be issued.

Any undelivered online orders will not be fulfilled. Quiz also confirmed that a stock clearance sale has begun across all stores, with items sold after February 5 classed as “sold as seen” and returns accepted only for faulty goods. No cash or card refunds will be given, and gift cards and credit notes can no longer be honoured.

A statement on Quiz’s website and shared on social media reads: “We regret to tell you that QUIZ is currently offline. Our stores will remain open for a period of time. We are grateful to everyone that has supported us over the years.”
