A rare turtle that washed up in Jersey following Storm Goretti is to be flown to the UK for rehabilitation.

Crush, a loggerhead turtle, was given life-saving treatment at New Era Veterinary Hospital in St Saviour, Jersey, after she was found extremely weak and suffering from malnutrition.

The vet practice said the creature would not cope with a ferry journey but Loganair had offered to transport her by plane.

The airline has received special permission to fly Crush passenger side to Southampton where she will continue her rehabilitation.
