Producers are currently searching for local people to take part as extras in upcoming filming connected to the Peaky Blinders franchise.

The opportunity is open to Birmingham and West Midlands-based applicants who can portray characters from the 1950s.

Casting organisers say suitable hairstyles are essential for the roles, with applicants required to have ‘1950s’ appropriate hair.

Modern cuts or contemporary styles will not be accepted, as the production aims to maintain historical accuracy for the period setting.

The casting call is specifically for supporting artists, often known as extras, who will help bring scenes to life by appearing in the background of filming.

Previous Peaky Blinders productions have regularly used local people, helping create an authentic Midlands atmosphere on screen.

Those selected could have the opportunity to be part of one of the UK’s most recognisable TV dramas, which originated in Birmingham and has gained an international following.

The series is known for its detailed recreation of historical settings and regularly attracts interest from fans keen to be involved.

Applications must be submitted to casting agency Celex on applications@celex.co.uk with ‘PeakyCelex’ in the subject line.

Applicants are encouraged to ensure they meet the hairstyle and location requirements before applying.

Further details on how to apply can be found through Celex website.
