WTA Doha Day 2 Predictions
Linda Noskova vs Maya Joint

Head-to-head: first meeting

This matchup between two aggressive baseliners will likely depend on which player is able to dictate play off her preferred wing. For Maya Joint, that is her backhand, which she uses well to change direction and disrupt rhythm with her slice. Linda Noskova, on the other hand, will look to dominate with her forehand and rush Joint into errors by taking time away from her. With this contrast in weapons, a close contest is expected, but Noskova’s ability to control rallies with her forehand should give her the edge in the key moments.

Prediction: Noskova in 3

Emma Raducanu vs Camila Osorio

Head-to-head: Raducanu 2-0 Osorio

On paper, Emma Raducanu enters this match with most of the advantages. She has the more potent forehand when in rhythm, more variety in her game, and a better serve. But just a few days ago, she looked physically burned out in the final of Cluj-Napoca, where she managed to win only two games. Now up against a player whose biggest strengths are grit and defensive scrambling, if Camila Osorio uses that to her advantage and drags this match out physically, an upset might be on the cards here.

Prediction: Osorio in 3

Zheng Qinwen vs Sofia Kenin

Head-to-head: Zheng 1-0 Kenin

After an elbow issue disrupted most of what was expected to be a career-best year for the Chinese star in 2025, Zheng Qinwen is back on tour after more than four months away. Up against the experience and baseline presence of Sofia Kenin, she might require some time to shake off the rust, but the American herself is on a four-match losing streak, and ultimately, this should be a testing but positive match for Zheng on her return to action.

Prediction: Zheng in 3

Wang Xinyu vs Emiliana Arango

Head-to-head: Wang 1-0 Arango

This match sees a natural ball striker in Wang Xinyu going up against someone who is more willing to defend and construct points in Emiliana Arango. Wang is the more confident player on a hard court of the two, and Arango is riding a five-match losing streak. As such, expect the more confident and aggressive player to pull off the win in conditions that usually favour first-strike tennis.

Prediction: Wang in 2
